Jackson is one of those places that earns every bit of its reputation – I know because I had my bachelorette party here and it was one of my favorite weekends of my life. The Tetons are genuinely as dramatic as the photos suggest, the town has gotten surprisingly good at food and drink, and the combination of wide-open wilderness and a walkable square with great restaurants is hard to find anywhere else.

In this guide: where to stay, the best breakfasts and dinners in town, the drinks spots worth your time, every hike ranked easiest to hardest (with mileage and swimming situations noted), and a few things to do that are very specifically Wyoming.

The main thing to know: summer is peak season, and the good restaurants fill up fast. Book before you go.

I’ve starred (⭐) my favorites – the places I’d prioritize.

Breakfast & cafes

For slow mornings before big days outside.

  • ⭐ Persephone Bakery: French-style bakery with hand-crafted breads, pastries, and great coffee. Two locations – downtown and Wilson (larger, less crowded).

  • Picnic: The Persephone sister café. Great to stop at for a lunch.

  • Inversion Yoga Café: Smoothies, cold-pressed juices, pastries, and coffee inside the studio.

  • Dornan’s: Classic post-hike stop right at the Grand Teton park entrance in Moose. Pizza, cold beer, and a deck with unbeatable Teton views.

Where to stay

From boutique downtown to full mountaintop resort – ordered roughly least to most remote.

  • The Cloudveil: A hotel directly on Town Square. Boutique, beautifully designed, heated pool, and their restaurant (The Bistro) downstairs. The rooftop is reason enough.

  • Hotel Jackson: A polished boutique property also right on Town Square. Warm, design-forward, with fireplaces in every room and a reliable on-site restaurant. A slightly quieter alternative to The Cloudveil.

  • Caldera House: Ski-lodge-style suites at Teton Village. Spacious, thoughtfully designed, and the right choice if you want to be close to the mountain rather than the town. I love their restaurant Corsa.

  • Amangani: Perched atop a hill with panoramic Teton views, an outdoor infinity pool, and the hushed atmosphere Aman is known for. Very pricey.

Where we stayed

The #1 most asked question.

Finding a group rental in Jackson is unnecessarily difficult, most aren’t listed on Airbnb. The place we found is a true gem.
